RealView
DebuggerUse this pane to display and debug source code, and to edit your source file if required. Use the Debug menu or the command buttons to invoke the debugger commands. The commands, messages, and results are displayed in the Output pane.
When you load an image, RealView Debugger opens the source file in the File Editor pane and draws a red box around the location of the Program Counter (PC). If the PC is at the entry point, the red box is drawn around main (). This marks the point to which a STEP instruction will go. Click the Src tab to display the source-level view showing the location of the PC.
If you force scope,
the red box shows current context, which is not necessarily the location
of the PC.
Each line of source-level code might require more than one assembly instruction. It is unlikely therefore that the source-level and assembly-level areas correspond exactly. When you switch between modes, the highlighted line in the code area corresponds to the same execution point in each mode.
In a Windows environment, if Tooltip Evaluation
is enabled, you can evaluate variables and registers by hovering your
mouse pointer above them in the code. If it is possible to evaluate them,
a tooltip is displayed with the name of the object and its value. This
option is selected by default, and you can turn it on or off from the
Advanced option of the Code
Window Edit menu.
