Storing and retrieving captured information

You can store and retrieve captured trace and profiling information using the options in the Analysis window File menu. These options allow you to:

• load a previously saved trace buffer from a file, using the Load Trace Buffer from File... option.

• save the current trace information to a file, using one of the following options:

 Use the Save Trace Buffer to File... option to save the unfiltered trace information to a file. That is, if you have performed any filtering, this is discarded and the complete trace capture is saved.

 Use the Save Filtered Trace Buffer to File... option to store post-filtered trace information. That is, if you have performed any filtering, only the information returned from the filter is saved.

• close the file that is currently loaded in the Analysis window, using the Close Loaded File option. Selecting this option both closes the file, and clears the trace information from the window.

• print the contents of the trace buffer, using the Print Trace Lines option. Selecting this option displays a standard print dialog.

• close the Analysis window, using the Exit Window option.
