New Log File...

Select this option if you want to create a log file. The Select File to Log to dialog is displayed for you to specify the name and location of the file. If you choose an existing file, you are given the choice of whether you append to it, or overwrite it.

When you create a log file, all commands are written to it. LOG appears in the task bar at the foot of the Code window to indicate that a log file is open.

By default, all output is unbuffered, that is, all lines are flushed to the specified file. To change to buffered output, set the environment variable JOULOG_UNBUF to the pathname for the log file.
