How do I load an image?

image\lamp.gifIf your image is associated with a user-defined project, it is advisable to load it from within the project. If you load an image built as part of a project without loading the project, you might not have access to the project settings because these are unknown to RealView Debugger.

To load an image from within a project:

1.   Connect to a target.

2.   Select Open Project… from the Code window Project menu, and navigate to the required project. Click Open. Alternatively select the Recent Projects… option, and select your project if it appears in the list.

3.   Click on the Click to Load /*.axf link displayed in the File Editor pane to load the image.

If your image is not associated with a user-defined project, there are a number of different ways that you can load it to your target:

image\lamp.gifRealView Debugger searches for an auto-project file (image.axf.apr) in the same location as the image you are loading. If the auto-project exists, it is opened and the settings are used, otherwise, RealView Debugger creates an in-memory auto-project for the session. If you make changes to the settings for an in-memory auto-project, or simply save the settings, RealView Debugger creates an auto-project file named image.axf.apr in the same location as the image file for use in future debugging sessions.
