How do I map memory by using a predefined board/chip definition file?

You can use a predefined board/chip definition file (*.bcd) to define your target memory in RealView Debugger. You must declare it in a CONNECTION setting for the target.

A detailed description of amending connection properties is provided in the RealView Debugger v1.8 User Guide. The following example describes the procedure for using a predefined .bcd file for an ARM Integrator/AP with a CM920T_ETM core module, running under Multi-ICE.

1.   Open RealView Debugger without connecting to a target.

2.   Select Connection Properties… from the Code window Target menu to display the Connection Properties window

3.   Click image\plus.gif in the left pane to expand the ARM RDI Configuration Entries group:

4.   Click image\plus.gif in the left pane to expand the multiice.rbe entries:

5.   Right-click on the CONNECTION line, and select Make Copy… from the context menu.

6.   Select CONNECTION in the Group Type/Name selector.

7.   Enter a name for the group, and click OK. In this example, enter MY_BOARD.

8.   Click on the CONNECTION line of the new group to display the settings in the right pane:

9.   Right-click on BoardChip name to display a context menu, which includes the names of all the installed board/chip definition files.

10.  Select CM920T.

11.  Repeat steps 9 and 10, but select AP.

12.  The right pane looks like this:

13. Click on the Connect with entry for MY_BOARD in the left pane.

14. Right-click on manufacturer name in the right pane.

15. Select a manufacturer name for the simulator or emulator type that you are modifying. In   this example, ARM-A-RR.
