Tightly coupled

Synchronization of a group of processors is described as Tight if the time delay (the skid) between the first processor stopping and the last processor stopping is insignificant.

In a hardware environment, RealView Debugger uses Tight synchronization if it is supported by the underlying processor or emulator, resulting in a very small skid of a few microseconds or less (perhaps only a single instruction).
