current thread
|
The current thread is the thread displayed in any unattached windows, and in RSD mode, it is the thread affected by any execution commands from unattached windows. An asterisk (*) beside a thread name in the thread list, the Thread tab of the Process Control pane, or the Resource window indicates that it is the current thread. You can select any thread to be the current thread, but you can only view the registers and variables associated with the thread when the processor is stopped (HSD), or when the thread hits a breakpoint or is stopped (RSD). If you stop processing from a Code window attached to a thread, that thread is stopped and becomes the current thread, all other threads continue to run. In HSD, current thread is set initially to the thread that was running when the processor stopped. This thread is shown by a thread icon colored yellow. In RSD, the initial setting of current thread does not have any specific meaning. |
