Connect (Defining mode)

If you do not want to change connect mode in the board file, you can use the Connect (Defining mode)… option to define the way the processor starts when you connect. This option is available from the Connection Control window context menu for the target.

image\lamp.gifThe connect mode that you select overrides any other defaults, but it is ignored if the target does not support it.

A List selection dialog is displayed showing a list of options depending on the target vehicle. Select one of the options, and click OK to establish a connection and control the startup state of your target processor.

If you select an option that is not supported by your target processor, a different connection mode is used and a warning is displayed to show that RealView Debugger could not complete your request.

Reset and Stop

Resets the target. If the target is running after the reset, it is stopped.

Reset and No Stop

Resets the target but does not change the running state of the target.

No Reset and Stop

Connects without resetting the target. If the target is running, it is stopped.

No Reset and No Stop

Connects without resetting the target. The running state of the target is not changed.

The default Connect mode is No Reset and Stop.
