Comparison type (on)

Select an option from this drop-down list to specify the type of comparison that triggers the specified tracepoint.
The list is restricted to the options available for your target.

Instr Exec

The tracepoint is set at the specified address when an instruction is executed at that address or in the address range.

Note: The address of every instruction presented to the execution unit is compared with the specified address. This includes any instructions that might not be executed due to their condition code evaluating to FALSE.

Instr Fetch

The tracepoint is set at the specified address when an instruction is fetched from memory at that address or in the address range.

Data Value Read

The tracepoint is set at the specified address when an  instruction access to that address reads data. If a data value is specified, the tracepoint will only be set when the data read is equal to  the value specified in equal to.

Data Value Write

The tracepoint is set at the specified address when an  instruction access to that address writes data.  If a data value is specified, the tracepoint will only be set when the data written is equal to  the value specified in equal to.

Data Value Access

The tracepoint is set at the specified address when an  instruction access to that address reads or writes data.  If a data value is specified, the tracepoint will only be set when the instruction access reads or writes data equal to  the value specified in equal to.

External Condition

The tracepoint is activated when the specified external condition is satisfied. It can be any of the following:

  • external inputs 1 to 4

  • EmbeddedICE watchpoints 1 to 4

  • access to ASIC memory maps 1 to 16

Up to four signals are available. The ASIC manufacturer determines the availability and usage of these input signals. Refer to your ASIC documentation for details.
