Getting started

To perform tracing on your program using all the default settings in RealView Debugger: 

  1. Start RealView Debugger.

  2. Connect to a target that supports trace. If you need help with setting up either Trace hardware or Trace software, refer to the Appendices of the RealView Debugger v1.8 Extensions User Guide.

You can use the localhost connection to RealView ARMulator ISS to familiarize yourself with basic instruction and data tracing support in RealView Debugger.

  1. Select Load Image... from the Code window Target menu to load the image you want to analyze.

  2. Select Analyzer/Trace Control Connect Analyzer/Analysis... from the Code window Tools menu to connect to the analyzer.

  3. Execute your program.

  4. View the trace capture data using the Analysis window.
