How do I attach a macro to a breakpoint?

You can associate a macro with a breakpoint so that the macro is run when execution reaches the breakpoint.

You can use one of the RealView Debugger predefined macros, or you can set up your own macro using the Add/Edit Macros dialog.

If you are attaching a macro that you create yourself, it must be open in the debugger.

You can set the breakpoint in any way that you want, but you must specify the macro name in the Qualifiers section of the Set Address/Data Breakpoint dialog, as follows:

1. Click New.

2. Click User Macro….

3. You are prompted to enter the macro call (with arguments) to execute on the break.

4. Click Set.

You cannot use the GO, GOSTEP, STEPINSTR, STEPLINE, STEPO, or STEPOINSTR commands in a macro that is attached to a breakpoint.
