RealView
DebuggerIf code is in ROM, you cannot set a software breakpoint on an instruction. You must use hardware breakpoints, if your target supports them.
To check the break capability of your target, select the Show Break Capabilities of HW… option from the Complex Breakpoints submenu of the Code window Debug menu.
To set a simple breakpoint on an instruction, double-click on the line in the margin of the source file. If there is a hardware break available, RealView sets it automatically and you can see it in the File Editor pane and Break/Tracepoints pane in the same way as a software breakpoint.
You can set conditional breakpoints using options in the Code window Debug menu:
Select Breakpoints
Conditional to display the
following options:
HW While in func/range, Break if X...
HW Break on Data Value match...
If you want to set a more complex breakpoint than
is possible using these options, you can use the Set
Address/Data Breakpoint dialog. Select Breakpoints
Set/Edit Breakpoint...
