How do I map memory using the Map tab of the Process Control pane?

You can map memory for the current debugging session when you have connected to a target, using the Map tab of the Code window Process Control pane. If you want to set up a memory map that is used automatically whenever you connect to a specific target, you must either amend the board file, or use a predefined board/chip definition file.

If you use the Map tab, you can map memory either before you load an image or afterwards.

To map memory using the map tab:

1. Connect to a target.

2. Select Memory Map Tab from the Code window View menu.

3. Right-click on an undefined area of memory (image\emptymem.gif) to display a context menu of options.

4. Select Add or Copy Map entry.

5. Define a memory block. See Map tab.
