Cycling through threads

You can cycle through the threads to display each in turn in any unattached windows, or windows attached to the current processor but not to a specific thread. The registers, variables, and code for the selected thread are displayed. In HSD mode the processor must be stopped, and in RSD mode, you can only see this information for captive threads. In RSD mode, execution control passes to the current thread, enabling you to set a thread breakpoint for example.

image\lamp.gifIn multiprocessor mode, you can cycle through the threads in a window that is attached to the processor running the RTOS application, but not attached to a thread.

You can see a list of active threads in the thrd tab of the Resource Viewer window, the Thread tab of the Process Control pane, or by clicking the image\thrdsdwn.gif on the Threads button image\threads.gif.

The list contains information about each thread, depending on your RTOS, for example:

To display the next active thread in the list:

Click on the image\bigplus.gif of the Threads button image\threads.gif to display the next active thread in the list. An asterisk (*) indicates the selected thread.

Alternatively, you can make a specified thread current from the Thread tab of the Process Control pane.

image\lamp.gifIf you click on image\bigplus.gif in a window that is attached to a thread, indicated by a checkmark (image\tickopt.gif) in the list, you are asked whether you want to unattach first. If you reply No, the request is ignored.
