Symbols - Scoping Rules

References to symbols follow the standard scoping rules of C and C++. For example, if a symbol is referenced, RealView Debugger searches its symbol table for that symbol using the following priority:

1.   A symbol local to the current macro (if any).

2.   A symbol local to the current line (if any).

3.   A symbol local to the current procedure (if any).

4.   A symbol local to the class of the current function (if any).

5.   A symbol static to the current module (if any).

6.   A global symbol not necessarily in the current module (if any).

7.   A static symbol in another module.

8.   A global symbol in another root (different loaded file).
