Connecting to a target

You must connect to a target before you can start debugging.

When you open RealView Debugger, if there is a shortcut link Click to Connect to a Target displayed in the Code window File Editor pane, click on it to open the Connection Control window. You can select your target from the displayed list.

$image\lamp.gif$ If you set Save Settings on Exit and Same Workspace on Startup in the File $image\optarrow.gif$ Workspace menu in a debugging session, RealView Debugger connects to the same target automatically the next time you open it.

If you are already connected to a target, and want to connect to a different target, open the Connection Control window to select the new target:

1. Select Connect to Target from the Code window Target menu, or use the $image\ccbut.gif$ button on your toolbar.
