Scope

RealView Debugger uses scope to determine the value of a symbol. Loading an image sets the PC at the entry point using auto-scope, that is the Program Counter (PC) defines the scope. RealView Debugger uses scope to define how to access variables, and to determine the value of a symbol in an expression.

By default, the PC sets the scope when it changes, but you can force the scope during your debugging session using various context menu options. For example, right-click in the margin in the Src tab of the Code window File Editor pane and select Scope To Here from the context menu.

The current, forced, scope is identified by image\blpoint.gif at the specified location.
